Our dogs spend a lot of time outdoors going on walks in the woods, in grassy fields, etc and we had tried collars, dips, other topical ointments and always ended up with ticks. Tried the Advantix based on our vet's recommendation, and have been extremely satisfied since. One of our dogs did have an allergic reaction the first time we used it on him, but we called the Vet and they told us just to give the dog some children's Benedryl. She was fine upon subsequent applications. As far as the poor customer service the other person wrote about in their review- I'm sorry they had a bad experience with the rep they spoke to, but why in the world would you call the manufacturer instead of your vet? Would you call the drug manufacturer if your child had an adverse reaction to a new prescription, or would you call your doctor?
